Multinational corporations and human rights violations in emerging economies: Does commitment to social and environmental responsibility matter?

With the surge in economic growth global-north vis-a-vis social and inequalities global-south (north-south dichotomy), there is an increasing requirement for critical research examination of policy implications with respect to human rights emerging economies. This paper draws on concept convergence institutional theories enhance our understanding how multinational corporations (MNCs) fulfil their profit maximisation agendas using capitalist principles; extent which these ideologies produce violations Using multiple data sources from Human Rights Watch, study provides a comprehensive list various perpetrated by MNCs 2002 2017. We verified 273 160 mostly developed countries.
